An excellent primary school in Bristol is currently recruiting for a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join them ASAP. This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate or experienced teaching assistant to develop their experience with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Behavioural Needs. A graduate with a degree graded 2:2 or above is ideal for this role, and some previous experience working with SEN children is desirable.
The position will involve working 1:1 with pupils with Special Needs and Challenging Behaviour, offering you the chance to work closely with children who have mental health difficulties, display challenging behaviour, and have learning disabilities such as Autism.
This primary school in Bristol is looking for a confident, dedicated Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant who is enthusiastic and passionate about making a positive impact on children's education. Ideally, the successful candidate will have excellent behaviour management skills and some form of restraint training, although this is not essential.
Role Overview
- Work 1:1 with pupils who require additional support as a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant
- Support children with challenging behaviour and mental health difficulties
- Gain valuable experience working in the education and training sector
- Full-time, Monday to Friday
Candidate Requirements
- A degree (2:2 or above) is desirable
- Previous experience working with children or SEN (e.g. youth work, support work, mental health work, SEN in sport)
- Strong behaviour management skills
- A proactive and compassionate approach
