What you would do as a Mental Health Support Worker (Bristol) :

The opportunity for the Mental Health Support Worker (Bristol) will be primarily based on supporting students in the classroom with their mental health, assisting with their education and training.

These students have trouble processing and regulating their emotions. This stems from childhood trauma and causes stress, anxiety and depression. You will be involved in helping them to process and regulate their emotions. The school hiring are looking for an individual who is patient and ideally someone who has a passion for mental health.

You will be shadowing the class teacher and providing supporting with general classroom duties. You will also have the opportunity to be surrounded by like-minded individuals and professionals and benefit from excellent education and training opportunites.

The successful Mental Health Support Worker (Bristol) :

The successful Mental Health Assistant will need to be open-minded, resilient, confident and determined to help others. You will need to be flexible and be able to adapt your role to fit the needs of each child. Previous experience working with children with mental health needs is desirable but not essential. A good attitude is most important and you must be passionate about making a difference.

This is a great opportunity for the successful Mental Health Assistant to gain valuable and rewarding experience making an impact whilst also being exposed to a variety of different teaching methods and techniques to help children with their mental health needs. You will also have the chance to shadow other professionals in the field and get a feel for other specialities.

A good platform for aspiring psychologists, therapists and counsellors still busy with their studies or individuals looking to gain experience in the classroom.

Graduates in a related field are encouraged to apply.
