About the Role
A unique opportunity has arisen for a skilled and compassionate Family Therapist to join a renowned healthcare facility in Bristol. This role focuses on delivering systemic family therapy within the Eating Disorder inpatient service and general psychiatry outpatient services. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting patients and their families, promoting recovery and resilience in a multidisciplinary team environment.
About the Facility
Set in a serene 18th-century country residence surrounded by parkland, this facility offers 77 beds across seven specialised wards, including services for:
- Eating Disorders
- Acute Mental Health
- Psychiatric Intensive Care
- Acquired Brain Injury
- Huntington’s and Dementia
Conveniently located near major transport links, the hospital also provides an expanding outpatient therapy service, ensuring comprehensive care options for its service users.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist systemic assessments and interventions for patients and families.
- Facilitate psycho-educational groups and parent support sessions.
- Deliver systemic consultations across the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
- Participate in care planning, risk assessment, and management.
- Lead reflective groups to promote systemic thinking among staff.
- Contribute to ward rounds, MDT assessments, and care planning meetings.
- Offer outpatient therapy as part of the Day Care Therapy Service.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Systemic Family Psychotherapist, registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
- MSc in Family Therapies.
- Experience with individual and family/group work in mental health settings.
Desirable Experience and Training:
- Previous experience in Eating Disorder services.
- Formal training in the supervision of psychotherapeutic modalities.
- Advanced training in evidence-based psychological therapies.
- Leadership training.
