About the Role
A unique opportunity has arisen for a skilled and compassionate Family Therapist to join a renowned healthcare facility in Bristol. This role focuses on delivering systemic family therapy within the Eating Disorder inpatient service and general psychiatry outpatient services. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting patients and their families, promoting recovery and resilience in a multidisciplinary team environment.

About the Facility
Set in a serene 18th-century country residence surrounded by parkland, this facility offers 77 beds across seven specialised wards, including services for:

  • Eating Disorders
  • Acute Mental Health
  • Psychiatric Intensive Care
  • Acquired Brain Injury
  • Huntington’s and Dementia

Conveniently located near major transport links, the hospital also provides an expanding outpatient therapy service, ensuring comprehensive care options for its service users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist systemic assessments and interventions for patients and families.
  • Facilitate psycho-educational groups and parent support sessions.
  • Deliver systemic consultations across the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
  • Participate in care planning, risk assessment, and management.
  • Lead reflective groups to promote systemic thinking among staff.
  • Contribute to ward rounds, MDT assessments, and care planning meetings.
  • Offer outpatient therapy as part of the Day Care Therapy Service.

What We’re Looking For
Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Systemic Family Psychotherapist, registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
  • MSc in Family Therapies.
  • Experience with individual and family/group work in mental health settings.

Desirable Experience and Training:

  • Previous experience in Eating Disorder services.
  • Formal training in the supervision of psychotherapeutic modalities.
  • Advanced training in evidence-based psychological therapies.
  • Leadership training.
