We are seeking to recruit a dedicated and compassionate support worker who is passionate about
their job, enjoys delivering exceptional care and would relish working with young children.
ROLE SUMMARY
The client is a bright and bubbly individual with cerebral palsy, who lives at home with his
parents. The successful candidate will require excellent communication skills as the client
communicates via his eye gazes and he will need to clearly understand what is being said to him.
The role involves working with the family and case manager to support the client to ensure
consistency and high standards of care.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- To follow the Health & Wellbeing plan as documented for the client
- Treat the client with respect and dignity, acknowledging their individuality in a non-judgemental way.
- assist the client to exercise choice and control over their own life
- To liaise with and support the family as required.
- To be aware of any significant changes in the client's health
Knowledge and Skills:
- Previous experience of caring or providing care for clients with physical and communication difficulties.
- Good understanding of the personal and physical needs of a client with physical and cognitive difficulties.
- Ability to maintain accurate and confidential records.
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 2 or above or equivalent in Care
- Age 21 and over
- Full UK driving licence
- Able to use own initiative.
- Excellent communication skills – both oral and written.
- Friendly, approachable, empathetic, caring and kind.
