You do not have to live in Bristol. This post is a desk top triage position so you can work remotely. You will be expected to attend meetings via Teams and you need to have confidence in your IT ability in this respect.
Under the Care Act 2014 all local authorities have a duty to protect adults who are experiencing or at risk of abuse and neglect. The Safeguarding Adults Team plays a crucial role in this.
We are a team of 18, comprising of Social Care Practitioners, Social Workers and Senior Practitioners. We form part of the front door service for Bristol City Council, triaging in excess of 650 safeguarding referrals every month.
Some of our key responsibilities include:
Protection and Prevention - Working in partnership with adults at risk to enable them to protect themselves from harm and abuse- including taking fast paced preventive measures to reduce risk.
Promoting Well being - Ensuring wishes and feelings are considered to promote well being.
Coordination and Collaboration - Working with various agencies and partner agencies to ensure a comprehensive approach to safeguarding which may also include holding partners accountable and monitoring outcomes.
Training and leadership - Providing guidance and training about safeguarding , showing leadership to promote a culture of safety and quality care.
Monitoring and Reporting - Monitoring safeguarding and using data to identify risks and take appropriate action.
We need to employ someone who can work confidently at fast pace, in a climate of change, and who has safeguarding experience.
