Job Title: Benefits Advisor
Salary: 30,000 - 35,000 depending on experience
Location: Bristol
As a Benefits Advisor you will be:
- Maximising income and benefit welfare
- Providing comprehensive money tips and advice and welfare benefit advice to customers, including customers who may be vulnerable due to mental illness, learning difficulties, their age, etc
- Liaising, referring, and working in partnership where necessary to appropriate agencies and partners, both internal and external. Including but not limited to Housing Benefit, Department of Work and Pensions, Homelessness, Social Services and Floating Support
Experience required as a Benefits Advisor:
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of welfare benefit entitlements and be able to give accurate advice and assistance, including overpayment queries and appeals
- An up to date working knowledge of the benefits system
- Experience of supporting customers to complete statements and applications
- Experience of supporting vulnerable customers with kindness and empathy
