A wonderful school in Thornbury is seeking a Mental Health Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. The school is looking for someone who is either a Psychology Graduate or has experience working with ASD, ADHD, and SEN. As a Mental Health Assistant, you will play a crucial role in a supportive team and will receive guidance and support throughout your time there.

The school is looking for a Mental Health Assistant to support pupils with SEMH, who is resilient and patient. They also have a role supporting a number of students, both 1:1 and in small groups, with ASD and ADHD.

Your role as a Mental Health Assistant may include, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Supporting children's behaviour for learning in the classroom.
  • Helping children with their understanding of the teacher's instructions.
  • Working with individual learners in the classroom 1:1, or with small groups in the Learning Support department.
  • Keeping track of and recording pupil progress.
