TeacherActive are proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and well-respected secondary school in South Gloucestershire, who are seeking a dedicated Student Support Worker to join their pastoral team. This is a full-time position to start as soon as possible and will involve working closely with students to support their emotional, social, and academic wellbeing.

In this role, you'll be a key part of the school's commitment to inclusive education and student support. You’ll work across year groups, supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.

• Provide targeted support to students experiencing challenges in or out of the classroom

• Build positive, trusting relationships to help students develop confidence and resilience

• Support behaviour management and wellbeing strategies in line with school policies

• Work alongside teaching and pastoral staff to create a nurturing and supportive learning environment

• Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies when necessary

• Have experience working with young people in a school or similar setting

• Be patient, empathetic, and approachable

• Have a passion for student welfare and making a difference

• Be confident working with pupils who may need additional emotional or behavioural support

• Be a strong team player with excellent communication skills
