Substance Misuse and Mental Health SpecialistLocation:BristolAre you passionate about making a difference in people's lives? As a Substance Misuse and Mental Health Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in supporting individuals within supported accommodation, helping them access structured drug and alcohol treatment, and guiding them towards independent living. You'll also bring mutual aid sessions into community settings through a dynamic group work programme.Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver impactful group work programmes: Provide high-quality mental health interventions and evidence-based drug and alcohol treatments to achieve outstanding outcomes for clients.
  • Support transition to independent living: Assist individuals in accessing structured treatment and moving towards self-sufficiency.
  • Organise community mutual aid sessions: Conduct one-on-one sessions and connect clients with broader support networks, including IPS, DWP, health services, and ROADS drug and alcohol services.
  • Tailor support for specific groups: Offer specialised assistance to women and individuals with compound trauma.

Skills, Experience & Knowledge

  • Expertise in Mental Health & Substance Misuse: Extensive knowledge of best practices in mental health and drug and alcohol treatment.
  • Group and Individual Support: Proven experience in delivering both group work and one-on-one support.
  • Stakeholder Relationship Building: Ability to develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Experience in liaising with various agencies and disciplines.
  • Housing and Homelessness Insight: Strong understanding of current housing and homelessness provisions.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
