Our client, a leading organisation in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a C++ Software Engineer to join their team on a contract basis in Bristol. This role involves developing solutions for the next generation of Air Defence Systems, with a focus on safety, performance, and dependability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and developing Command and Control architectures for future products
- Proactively contributing to the evolution of software solutions
- Collaborating with team members to maintain development momentum
- Ensuring effective documentation throughout the software development process
- Implementing and integrating automated target solutions
- Exploring new tools, techniques, and approaches to improve process efficiency and sustainability
- Engaging with requirement authorities to ensure alignment with project goals
Job Requirements:
- Strong background in software engineering and understanding of system-wide impacts
- Experience in working with embedded C/C++
- Collaborative and open approach to development
- Experience across the entire software development process
- Familiarity with other languages such as Ada and QT
- Knowledge of DDS middleware and Real Time Operating Systems
- Understanding of standards such as DefStan 00-55, DO-178C, or IEC61508, and restricted coding standards such as MISRA C++
Contract Details:
- Initial 12-month contract
- Location: Bristol
- Must have Security Clearance (SC) to start
