The Role:
So, what will you be doing as a Java Software Engineer?
- Take a proactive role in designing and developing innovative software tools, architectures, and solutions for future Air Defence Systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment across the development process.
- Engage with requirement authorities to capture needs and translate them into robust software solutions.
- Support automated target integration, verification, and documentation to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Explore and implement new tools, techniques, and approaches to enhance process efficiency and sustainability.
What are we looking for in our next Java Software Engineer?
- A strong background in software engineering, with a focus on system-wide impacts.
- Proven experience in Java development.
- A collaborative, open approach to development with the ability to maintain momentum in a team environment.
- Experience across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements capture to target integration and proving.
- Familiarity with additional programming languages such as Ada.
- Knowledge of DDS middleware and Real-Time Operating Systems.
- Understanding of industry standards such as DefStan 00-55, DO-178C, or IEC61508.
