Our esteemed client, a trusted partner of the UK's Ministry of Defence, are seeking the expertise of a Low-Level Embedded Software Engineer. The selected candidate will deliver real-time solutions for advanced in-house weapons. The engineer will be part of a team responsible for the entire software product, from design, development, building, integration, and testing to support.

As a Low-Level Embedded Software Engineer, the successful candidate will join the Embedded Software team in Bristol. They will work towards developing real-time software solutions for Missile Units and Subsystems produced internally.

What we're looking for:

Required:

* Embedded C programming & debugging

* Hardware/software integration experience

* Experience working to standards

* Experience with ARM processors

* Basic Linux skills

Desirable:

* Full software lifecycle experience (design, development, and testing)

* Knowledge of Real-Time Operating Systems (e.g., PikeOS, FreeRTOS)

* Knowledge of Lauterbach debug tools

* Experience with ARM Cortex-A series processors

* Knowledge of ARM TrustZone

* Knowledge of IBM Configuration Management tools (RTC/EWM)

* Very interested in knowledge of the Texas Instruments TD4A family of processors

What you'll get to do as a Low-Level Embedded Software Engineer:

As a Low Level & Security software engineer, you will be responsible for developing one or more of our internally developed security solutions and bespoke product lines throughout its/their life cycle.

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by our clients Security Team.

Our client's relationship with the UK military spans back over 70 years. They have delivered countless landmarks in defence engineering, supplying vital defence capability to meet the needs of the armed forces over land, sea, and air.

This role is based at their headquarters site in Stevenage which plays a key part in missiles operations. The site also offers excellent transportation links and boasts an onsite gym and coffee shop. Training and development are offered to all employees.
