The growing workload within MBDA UK has created an exciting opportunity for a Software Project Leader to work within our Embedded Software Team in Bristol!

Job Title: Software Project Lead (Low Level Software)

Salary: Circa £72,000 depending on experience 

Location: Bristol (we may be able to offer a relocation package for this role)

Dynamic (hybrid) working: typically 4 days per week on-site, due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

The Embedded Software team is tasked with supplying a full range of hard real time software solutions for the next generation of missiles. This unique and exciting opportunity will allow you to develop technical and leadership skills across our range of products.

What we're looking for from you:

  • Lead a team of professional engineers that are specialists in hard real time software development.

  • Be responsible for the development and delivery of software for embedded missile systems on time on cost and on quality.

  • Work closely with multi-disciplined teams to ensure technical excellence in the software produced.

  • Ensure the application of software development plans to the development cycle

  • Provide regular reports to demonstrate progress achieved. 

  • The ability to work with stakeholders at all levels and across different nationalities.

While not essential, it'd be beneficial if you had:

  • Understanding of technology used in the real time embedded software development.

  • Understanding of SysML/UML and C, C++ or Ada Languages.

  • Experience in working in a high technology environment where the quality and accuracy of work is essential.

  • Awareness of standards such as DefStan 00-55 & DO178B/C

Applicants with significant, related, software development experience will also be considered for development into the role.
