A local SEN school in the Redland area of Bristol (BS6) are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join their friendly team full-time starting this March 2025. The role will involve working under the guidance of the Year 3 class teacher, and supporting the pupils academically and emotionally, to help improve their independence and life skills.

  • £83.33 - £96.15 per day, depending on experience
  • Full-time, Monday - Friday 8.30am to 4pm
  • Term time only
  • Bristol - BS6

The school caters for pupils with a range of additional needs, so this is an exciting role where no two days are ever the same. Within your day to day, you will work with students who may have ASD, ADHD, cerebral palsy, Tourette's, down syndrome or other learning needs so be ready to be flexible and be able to adapt to each of the students' needs. The school have a timetabled curriculum which includes lessons dedicated to life skills so you will be helping the students with cooking and sports - get ready to make the classroom a fun and exciting place!

The right candidate

  • Maths and English at GCSE - Minimum grade 4/C
  • Experience supporting children with special educational needs - for example personal experience with a family member, youth work, support work, mental health work or SEN in sport
  • DBS Check required (We can assist with this).
