An inclusive Primary School in the BS7 area of Bristol is looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join their energetic and friendly EYFS team.

This school adapted their curriculum to provide learning opportunities to children individually. This comes in the form of hands-on experience, trips and visitors to enhance children's understanding and broaden their knowledge of the world around them.

Learning Support Assistants are a fundamental part of the teaching and learning at this school. You will receive training and development opportunities and play an important part in all decision-making throughout the classroom.

The Role

This is a Full-Time opportunity for someone with experience of working with children.

You will be joining the Reception class, working 1 to 1 with a child with SEMH needs.

The school is looking for a candidate who is empathetic and patient, working with the class teacher to support the pupils learn and develop at their own pace.

You will be expected to use your own initiative to develop activities to meet the child’s needs but to also challenge them to enrich their learning and knowledge.

You will be expected to:

  • Have experience working with children.

  • Be patient, creative and energetic.

  • Be willing to learn and develop professionally.

  • Be flexible and use your own initiative when supporting children.

  • Work collaboratively with the Class Teacher and other EYFS staff.

  • Communicate clearly the development and progression of the child’s ability.
