SEN Learning Support Assistant - Bristol - BS3

If so, we may have the perfect role for you. Academics are currently recruiting on behalf of one of our client schools in Bristol (Bedminster) for a Learning Support Assistant or Teaching Assistant to support a child with additional social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

  • Bristol, BS3 (Bedminster)
  • Monday - Friday, mornings only
  • £209 - £237 per week, depending on experience
  • Mainstream Primary School
  • Start ASAP

About the role

  • Working with an individual learner in the classroom 1:1
  • Supporting their behaviour for learning in the classroom.
  • Helping them with their understanding of the teacher's instructions.
  • Guiding them through the daily tasks in the classroom
  • Keeping track and recording their progress.

You will need

  • Enhanced DBS Check (We can assist with this)
  • Graduate in a relevant field such as psychology or criminology OR a good education background (GCSE's in Maths and English) plus prior experience as an SEN Learning Support Assistant
  • An interest in sports, to help connect with the child you will be working alongside
