A well-regarded primary school in Bristol is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This is a long-term position, starting ASAP, with the opportunity to continue for the rest of the academic year.

Experience working with children with Autism is highly desirable, especially if you have a background in ABA therapy or similar approaches. The children can display some challenging behaviours, so experience in behaviour management, patience and resilience will be essential.

Role Details:
  • Position: SEN Teaching Assistant - ASD Support
  • Sector: Education and training
  • Location: Bristol
  • Salary: £90-£100 per day (DOE)
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Hours: Full-time, (Mon-Fri, 8:30am - 4:00pm)
  • Support: 1:1 support with a child diagnosed with moderate ASD
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 support for a child with moderate ASD
  • Assist with behaviour management and help the child integrate into the classroom
  • Support with social and emotional development, as well as academic tasks
  • Work closely with the class teacher and other staff to develop tailored learning plans
Ideal Candidate:
  • Previous experience as a SEN teaching Assistant (Autism, SEMH, ADHD, learning difficulties, etc.)
  • Experience working with children with challenging behaviours
  • Ability to provide one-to-one and small group support
  • Enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed to the role
  • Strong behaviour management skills and a professional manner
