An excellent primary school in Hartcliffe, Bristol are searching for an experienced SEN teaching assistant to join them on an immediate basis. You will be working 1:1 with a child, supporting them in their numeracy and literacy within Key Stage 1 and 2 and ensuring they are fulfilling the learning objective for each lesson. The children have varying social, emotional and mental health needs, communication difficulties (autistic spectrum conditions, Asperger's Syndrome; speech, language and communication needs), ADHD and complex learning needs.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will be working closely with the SENCO so will be a great opportunity for you to learn from their experience and develop in your career.

The right candidate

  • Graduate in a relevant field such as psychology or criminology OR a good education background (GCSE's in Maths and English) plus prior experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Hold a current enhanced DBS criminal record check certificate, or comfortable to be put through the DBS process prior to starting
  • Compassionate and patient with a genuine interest in SEN and their input into a child's education
