To help Bristol's pupils with special learning needs, Randstad Education is searching for a kind and capable SEN Teaching Assistant on a full-time basis. Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored support to students with SEN on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.

Assist in developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

Encourage the participation of students in classroom activities, ensuring they feel included and valued.

Use creative and engaging methods to support learning, promoting confidence and independence.

Collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to assess progress and adapt strategies as needed.

Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and carers.

Contribute to the development of resources and strategies to enhance the learning environment.
We are looking for someone who is:

Someone who understands the unique challenges SEN students face and can provide unwavering support.

Can collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and external agencies.
-
Experience working with children with SEN (either professionally or personally).

Strong understanding of different SEN conditions and strategies to support them.
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Able to provide 2 professional references.

Having the eligibility to work in the UK.

Having an enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for a new one.
Desirable:
-
Relevant qualifications, e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or SEN-specific training.

Knowledge of Makaton, PECS, or similar communication systems.
