About the Role

Academics is seeking an exceptional SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role offers the chance to make a positive difference in the lives of children with special educational needs in a primary school setting.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide vital support to SEN children, enabling them to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Your efforts will help create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment where every child can reach their full potential.



Key Responsibilities

  • One-on-One Support: Work closely with children with special needs, adapting teaching strategies to meet their unique requirements.
  • Classroom Assistance: Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons, ensuring active participation from all children.
  • Promote Inclusion: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, encouraging a sense of belonging and self-confidence.
  • Collaboration: Work with the school's SENCO and other professionals to develop and implement individualized learning plans.
  • Monitor Progress: Assess the progress of SEN children and provide regular feedback to the class teacher and parents.


Requirements

  • Experience: Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with effective teaching strategies and resources to support diverse learning needs.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
  • Personal Attributes: Patience, empathy, and a passion for empowering children to succeed.
  • Location: Located in Bristol or within a commutable distance
