A well-regarded primary school in Bristol is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This is a long-term position, starting ASAP, with the opportunity to continue for the rest of the academic year.
Experience working with children with Autism is highly desirable, especially if you have a background in ABA therapy or similar approaches. The children can display some challenging behaviours, so experience in behaviour management, patience and resilience will be essential.
Role Details:- Position: SEN Teaching Assistant - ASD Support
- Sector: Education and training
- Location: Bristol
- Salary: £90-£100 per day (DOE)
- Start Date: ASAP
- Hours: Full-time, (Mon-Fri, 8:30am - 4:00pm)
- Support: 1:1 support with a child diagnosed with moderate ASD
- Provide 1:1 support for a child with moderate ASD
- Assist with behaviour management and help the child integrate into the classroom
- Support with social and emotional development, as well as academic tasks
- Work closely with the class teacher and other staff to develop tailored learning plans
- Previous experience as a SEN teaching Assistant (Autism, SEMH, ADHD, learning difficulties, etc.)
- Experience working with children with challenging behaviours
- Ability to provide one-to-one and small group support
- Enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed to the role
- Strong behaviour management skills and a professional manner
