A primary school in Bristol has recently opened a dedicated resource unit for children with SEN and is looking for a Psychology, Criminology, or similar degree graduate to join their team as a SEN Teaching Assistant. The role involves providing support to children with complex needs, autism, and learning disabilities. Candidates with prior experience in SEN roles will also be considered.

The school caters to children aged 3 to 11 and requires a consistent, nurturing presence to ensure they receive the highest standard of care and child-focused support. While experience in a similar setting is advantageous, it is not essential. Graduates in fields such as Psychology, Criminology, or related areas are encouraged to apply. You will be working in a small class of 12 children, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of therapists, psychologists, teachers, and support staff.

This is a fantastic opportunity for Psychology or Criminology graduates to work alongside on-site therapists and psychologists. You will receive mentorship and have the chance to shadow sessions, gaining invaluable experience in working with children with SEN and mental health challenges. It's an ideal role for those pursuing a career as an educational or occupational psychologist, therapeutic support worker, or SEN teacher.

• Experience in SEN (personal or professional) is beneficial
• Strong initiative and adaptability in a classroom setting
• A degree in Psychology, Criminology, or a related field is desirable, but not essential
• Live within a commutable distance of Bristol
