The Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant in this Bristol primary school, you'll work closely with teachers to support students with a variety of needs, including learning difficulties, behavioural challenges, and physical disabilities. You'll help students engage with the curriculum, monitor their progress, and foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Beyond the classroom, you'll assist students during breaks and school activities, ensuring their safety and encouraging their social development.

Key Responsibilities
  • As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide one-on-one or small group support to help students access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), tailoring resources to meet students' specific needs.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, sharing updates with teachers and parents.
  • Support students during breaks, lunchtimes, and school activities, ensuring their safety and inclusion.
  • Create a positive, inclusive environment that nurtures students' emotional and social development.
