Special needs teaching assistant

Zen Educate are looking for a special needs teaching assistant to work at a special needs school in Bristol that specialise in students that have social, emotional and mental health struggles as well as those that are on the autistic spectrum. The school is rapidly expanding and as such will be wanting to bring on long term and full time staffing to work 1:1 with students. The school which is near the Sea Mills area have only been open a couple of years and would be a great opportunity for anyone that is looking to join a school that is constantly evolving.

**About the role:**

- Full time position working 8:30-3:30, Monday to Friday during term time

- Providing 1:1 support to students with SEMH and ASC

- Implementing effective strategies to engage with students and manage challenging behaviour

- Working closely with the support team and following instructions from teachers

**Requirements:**

- School experience preferred but not essential

- Experience working with special needs, either in a school setting, as a youth worker, or in a care environment

- Ability to manage and engage with students with SEMH or ASC

- Calm and empathetic approach towards children

- Strong team player with the ability to follow instructions and attainment goals

**Qualifications:**

- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)

- Safeguarding training - Team Teach training (desirable)

- Experience working with SEMH or ASC students
