Team teach teaching assistant/intervention - full time and long term

Zen Educate are looking for a team teach qualified teaching assistant to take on full time work delivering invention to a small and select group of students at a special needs school in West Bristol, starting as soon as possible and running up until christmas, with the potential to run longer depending on how well the placement works. This work is with secondary aged students.

Since this school specialises in educating students with social, emotional and mental health difficulties, team teach qualification that is in date is required due to the nature of the students and behavious they may typically present with. We are looking for someone that has experience with interventions before and can confidently lead a small group of students in the learning objectives and get them back on track with the subjects they may be falling behind on.

Working hours are 8:30-3:45 Monday to Friday and term time only.

Requirements;

- Experience in interventions and working with special needs students, especially those with SEMH

- Confident in behaviour management. Keep students to high learning expectations but able to offer empathy and compassion for challenges that students could be facing i.e home pressures

- Work to targets and objectives that have been put together by the teacher and good communication is maintained so progress can be monitored between you and the teacher

- Reliable and consistent with attendance, absence will have an effect on students and their attainment, so its paramount that the school has someone that will be able to honour commitments

- Holds an enhanced DBS on the update service
