Nurture Teacher - Bristol

We are currently recruiting Nurture Teachers to work with fantastic schools in Bristol. This role is for an immediate start with our schools very keen to take on Nuture Teachers ASAP! These are full-time temporary positions, which if successful candidates could be made permanent. We are looking for a Nurture Teacher to teach in Year 7 or Year 8 with the ideal candidate for this role being a Qualified Teacher.

The Role:

  • As a Nurture Teacher, you will be required to teach a range of subjects and skills to KS3 students in order that they receive a broad and effective curriculum that will prepare them well for their next stage of education
  • Contribute to the development of a 'Nurture' style approach for KS3 students under the direction of the Principal and the SENCo
  • A Nurture Teacher acts as a form tutor and establish good relationships with families to promote students' learning and development
  • Consistently and accurately assess students' progress and achievement, especially in English, Maths, Science and PSHE
  • Ensure that resources and the classroom environment are organised and readily available to promote learning

Requirements:

  • You must have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Substantial and recent experience of teaching pupils/students with special needs, including autism, to a high standard
  • Experience of working effectively with young people who present with a range of challenging behaviour
  • Proven ability to demonstrate and lead outstanding classroom practice, including innovative curriculum development and planning
  • Ability to quickly establish relationships with young people, vulnerable people and families with complex needs
  • Able to commute in and around Bristol.
