Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and compassionate SEN Teacher who will play a key role in supporting students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SEN strategies and be committed to helping each student reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver personalised lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of SEN students.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students, setting achievable targets and monitoring progress.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and support staff to ensure effective classroom support.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Regularly assess, record, and report on the progress of students.
  • Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and external professionals to support student development and well-being.
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school initiatives to enhance SEN provision.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and any interventions used.

Requirements:

  • Either a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) are essential.
  • Proven experience working with children with Special Educational Needs.
  • Strong knowledge of SEN teaching strategies and the ability to differentiate instruction.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and best practices in SEN education.
