About the Role:We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Needs Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive educational environment in the Shirehampton area. Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess tailored lessons designed to meet the individual needs of students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to support student progress.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student engagement and confidence.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals to deliver comprehensive support.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to adapt lessons to a range of abilities and needs.
  • Regularly assess and monitor student progress, communicating effectively with parents and carers.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge of SEN practices and strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of student development, interventions, and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Either a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), or a Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) is essential.
  • Proven experience teaching students with SEN, preferably in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of effective SEN strategies, frameworks, and relevant legislation.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organisational skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students with additional needs.
