About the Role:We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Needs Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive educational environment in the Shirehampton area. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess tailored lessons designed to meet the individual needs of students with special educational needs (SEN).
- Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to support student progress.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student engagement and confidence.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals to deliver comprehensive support.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to adapt lessons to a range of abilities and needs.
- Regularly assess and monitor student progress, communicating effectively with parents and carers.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge of SEN practices and strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of student development, interventions, and outcomes.
Requirements:
- Either a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), or a Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) is essential.
- Proven experience teaching students with SEN, preferably in a similar role.
- Knowledge of effective SEN strategies, frameworks, and relevant legislation.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organisational skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students with additional needs.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
