About the role

Working in schools and alternative provisions teaching children aged 5 to 16 with special educational needs and disabilities. Opportunities for specialised subjects and general cover working on a supply basis. You will be part of a team who will engage the children in the absence of their teacher to ensure that they do not miss out on their education and the school or alternative provision runs smoothly. As a ASC Teacher you will work, day to day, short-term, long-term with the option for full and part-time positions.

About the school

The specialist schools and provisions cater for students in with communication and interaction problems, learning difficulties, social or emotional issues and visual or hearing impairments. With brilliant facilities, resources and a staff team who pride themselves on their child-centred approach to raise engagement on daily basis. Most schools and provisions have excellent public transport links, but access to a vehicle would be advantageous.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of ASC Teacher you will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Newly Qualified Teaching Status (NQT)
  • Hold a driving licence, which would be preferred, but not essential.
  • Confident de-escalating challenging situations. Training would be an advantage but not essential.

Salary

£600 to £900 per week

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
