Role Summary:North Bristol NHS Trust is seeking a skilled and dedicated Band 6 Speech & Language Therapist to join our dynamic team at Southmead Hospital. In this role, you will provide comprehensive assessments and therapeutic interventions to individuals with communication and swallowing difficulties across various clinical settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough speech and language assessments to identify communication and swallowing needs in patients of all ages.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on assessment outcomes, utilizing evidence-based practices.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated care and support for patients with complex needs.
  • Educate and support patients, families, and caregivers on communication strategies and swallowing safety.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to clinical audits, service evaluations, and quality improvement initiatives.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • A degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent qualification and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience in a clinical setting, with a focus on assessment and intervention for speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient engagement and collaboration with colleagues.
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage a caseload, and prioritize tasks efficiently.
