Your new companyHays has partnered with one of the largest transport and logistics companies in the UK to help recruit an Indirects Procurement Manager into their strategic function. With over 100 years of experience, they offer a wide range of services within their sector and operate across the UK out of several hubs.After continued growth, they implemented a strategic Procurement function into their business services division. Although still in its infancy, they have made a significant impact on the business and are looking for a driven Procurement Manager to come and help support this journey. Your new roleIn this role, you'll be accounting for indirect spend across the business, with the key categories being Professional Services (agency spend) IT, FM, Utilities & PPE (c. £50m in annual spend).You'll be responsible for developing and delivering strategic category plans, leading negotiations on tenders and contracts and help the business to continue to implement procuremnet best practices across the organisation.Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead procurement activities on indirect categories (c. £50m spend)
  • Develop and lead on category management within your areas of spend
  • Identify, evaluate and qualify new suppliers to ensure value for money
  • Manage negotiations for contracts and supplier management via KPIs and regular supplier meetings
  • Ensure suppliers adhere to company compliance and policies
  • Work with the department to deliver procurement best practices are implemented with internal stakeholders
  • Support the organisations approach to sustainability

What you'll need to succeed

  • Working experience operating as Procurement Manager covering indirect spend
  • Deep knowledge of contract management
  • End-to-end procurement experience
  • Strong & confident communication skills (stakeholder management, negotiation & influencing)
  • CIPS qualifications would be desirable
