To undertake tasks using appropriate techniques to ensure that agreed actions and service delivery targets are met. Assist with the delivery of Bristol's Street works Permit Scheme as required by the team manager

Responsibilities

  • Draft Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders and Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices in line with the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Procedure Regulations 1992.
  • Producing both managerial and technical data information (e.g. internet searches, collation of statistics and reports, manipulation of spreadsheets and databases) and prepare more specialist technical drafts for approval.
  • Operate a PC to assist in the production of maps, models, graphics, drawings, and diagrams to ensure that projects are fully supported and that the Transport Service communication needs are accurately met.
  • Undertake general office duties to include opening and sorting of post, filing, photocopying, maintaining office diary, monitoring and ordering of stationery as required; Cash handling, collection and reconciliation; maintaining a petty cash float as required (amount will vary).
  • Ensure compliance with data protection policies when handling confidential information.
  • Keeping abreast of planned and emergency works via other channels such as social media.
  • Checking One.Network for new permits and works for possible issues around the boundary of the CAZ.
  • Checking that the correct signage is used for diversions that take vehicles into the Clean Air Zone. This signage should be correct as per the TSRGD and appropriate for the diversion


Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role for local authorities
  • Relevant NVQ level 3 or level 2 with relevant experience
  • Full UK driving licence
