Reporting to the Head of Operational Finance, you'll lead a team of five, managing the Purchase Ledger, supplier payments, business expenses, and business travel. This is a great and an exciting time to join our client as they enhance their Finance function and prepare to implement a new system.

How you'll make an impact?


Our client is looking for someone with strong line management experience and someone who has project experience implementing new systems. Key skills include change management, process mapping, and project delivery..

  • Overseeing the team's daily operations, weekly rota, workloads, and KPIs to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Conducting quarterly reviews, annual appraisals, and setting objectives to drive team development.
  • Maintaining accurate supplier bank details with proper due diligence.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely payments in line with company policies.
  • Approving payments and credit card requests, and monitoring credit card usage per policy.
  • Managing aged creditors, resolving outstanding invoices, and reconciling business expenses with receipts and approvals.
  • Allocating spend to client ledgers and budgets for accurate billing and reporting.
  • Handling PSA management, including new items, monthly reviews, and annual submission to HMRC.
  • Publishing quarterly payment practice reports to maintain prompt payment code compliance.
  • Collecting and submitting travel and supply chain emissions data to the sustainability platform.
  • Supporting financial audits and providing requested samples.
  • Reviewing, updating, and creating policies (Travel, Expenses, Credit Card Usage, Payments) and overseeing implementation.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert on travel, budget reporting, and VAT compliance.
  • Managing SharePoint pages to provide updated guidance on PL processes and travel.
  • Overseeing relationships with external suppliers, including banks and the travel management company.
