A very established multi-disciplinary consultancy is looking for a Senior/Principal Transport Planner to join their Transport Planning team that is situated across two of their offices in Bristol & London.
As a Senior/Principal Transport Planner you will be taking a leading role in Transport Planning schemes across a wide range of development sectors, from residential to football stadia. Sustainable infrastructure is also a large target area for this team.
You will need to demonstrate expertise in Transport Statements, Travel Plans, junction models and ideally have been an Expert Witness on a wide range of more complex developments.
You will also be Chartered (or fast approaching) with the CIHT (or other relevant body) and have experience in managing your own team of junior staff.
Senior/Principal Transport Planner Requirements
- Delivery of Transport Assessments, Statements and Travel Plans;
- Delivery of feasibility studies;
- Assisting in the delivery of transport scheme business cases;
- Assisting in the delivery of the Value for Money assessments and economic appraisals;
- Undertaking active travel appraisals;
- Development of traffic models and analysis;
- Analyse, write and present results and reports;
- Attend meetings with clients and other stakeholders;
- Work as part of a team to develop solutions;
- Support the Transport Planning Team by taking leadership and responsibility for the delivery of its tasks and projects; and
- Continue to develop your professional skills as you progress your career.
Senior/Principal Transport Planner Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree or equivalent in Geography, Planning or related subject (Masters' Degree in Transport Planning desirable)
- Working towards or chartered with a relevant professional body
- Experience of producing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans
- Experience of providing access feasibility advice
- Detailed knowledge of, and the ability to apply appropriate design guidance, i.e. MfS, MfS2, DMRB
- Experience in the use of relevant software, particularly Junctions 9/10 and LinSig
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft software, i.e. Word, Excel, Powerpoint; and
Knowledge of the planning process across the UK.
