Senior Transport Modeller

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Transport Modeller with strong expertise in VISSIM to join a leading consultancy in Bristol. This role is ideal for a professional with a solid background in transport modelling and microsimulation, looking to take on large projects and contribute to the development of transport strategies across the UK.
 
Key Responsibilities:
·Lead the development and application of microsimulation models using PTV VISSIM.
·Analyse and interpret transport data to support model development and validation.
·Provide technical expertise in traffic flow analysis, network performance, and scenario testing.
·Work closely with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders to deliver transport solutions.
·Oversee and mentor junior team members, supporting their professional development.
·Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate transport modelling with wider planning and engineering projects.
·Contribute to the preparation of reports, presentations, and technical documentation.
 
Requirements:
·Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
·Extensive experience in transport modelling and microsimulation, particularly using PTV VISSIM.
·Proficiency in data analysis, scripting (Python, VBA, or similar), and GIS tools is desirable.
·Strong understanding of traffic engineering principles and transport planning methodologies.
·Experience working on transport projects for local authorities, government agencies, or private sector clients.
·Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide strategic insights.
·Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience in client engagement and report writing.
