Senior Transport Planner - Consultancy | Midlands | Up to 55,000 + Benefits

Location: Midlands (Hybrid Working Available)

We're working exclusively with a highly respected transport and infrastructure consultancy that's looking to expand its team with the addition of a Senior Transport Planner. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality planning advice and technical support across a broad range of development sectors, this is an exciting opportunity for a driven individual to work on a diverse project portfolio with a supportive and growing team.



About the Role:

As a Senior Transport Planner, you'll play a key role in delivering transport planning inputs for a variety of development projects - from initial feasibility through to planning application and beyond. This role offers real variety and responsibility, including client liaison, project management, and mentoring junior team members.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, and Transport Statements

  • Leading on the technical input to planning applications

  • Engaging with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders

  • Using software such as Junctions, LinSig, TRICS, and TEMPro

  • Supporting and guiding junior staff, contributing to a collaborative team culture



What We're Looking For:

  • A degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Transport Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering)

  • At least 5 years' experience in development planning or transport consultancy

  • Strong technical and report-writing skills

  • Good working knowledge of current transport policies and planning legislation

  • Confident communicator, capable of liaising with clients and local authorities
