Transport Administrator - Avonmouth - Up to 26,000

Our client are looking for a Transport Administrator to ensure the efficient operation of the transport department and successful delivery of goods. A proactive and ambitious individual will thrive in this role, contributing to the growth and success of the organization.

Role Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: 26,000 per year

Working Hours:

  • Shift: 13:00 - 22:00
  • Days: Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vehicle Administration: Perform gate checks, download driver/vehicle cards, and ensure vehicle cleanliness.
  • Transportation Coordination: Schedule and coordinate transportation activities for timely and efficient deliveries.
  • Route Planning: Optimize routes for cost-effective and on-time deliveries.
  • Communication: Maintain communication with drivers, customers, and internal teams, providing updates on delivery status.
  • Problem Resolution: Assist in resolving any transportation-related issues or delays.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to improve operational efficiency.
  • Warehouse Support: Support warehouse functions including loading and unloading vehicles (forklift training provided).

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Communication Skills: Ability to handle phone calls and emails with customers and drivers.
  • IT Skills: Proficient in using relevant software and systems.
  • Warehouse Experience: Forklift experience (or willingness to undergo in-house training).
  • Education: GCSE or equivalent (preferred).
  • Forklift Certification: Counterbalance forklift certification is a plus.
