Maths and English tutor required

Zen Educate are seeking a teacher that is interested in taking on some full time work tutoring a small cohort of students in year 10 and 11 on their maths and English. This small group are curently behind as to where they should be on both these subjects so require someone to work more closely with them to get closer to where they should be in time for exams. The tutoring work would not take up a full timetable, so the school would utilise you in other times to simply cover classes where there is absence.

The school is part of a national network of community schools that focus heavily on their local impact on communities. This particular school has done big things over the last 12 months to really make students accountable for behaviours and as a result the school has become a more widely positive environment.

Working hours are 8:30-4 Monday to Friday and term time only.

Requirements;

- UK QTS with a specialism in either Maths or English (ideally)

- Confident in the KS4 curriculum with good attainment records

- Able to support students on a 1:1 basis and differentiate learning so each student can better access the learning and catch up on where they have fallen behind

- Offer encouragement, challenge and empathy in your teaching style, and see each students value

- Have strong communication with other members of staff in the school, reporting on their progress as time goes

- Able to be flexible to the needs of the school and cover whatever lessons needed in time that is not tutoring

- Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service, or obtain one on application
