Vacancy - Junior Web Developer

ESS Employment Ltd are recruiting a Junior Web Developer on behalf of an established client in the Yate area. This is an exciting opportunity for a web developer to play a key role in the web and digital operations of a fast-growing company. The company operates in the manufacturing and supply of products related to access control and identification.

Duties for the role:

  • Develop and maintain websites using WordPress
  • Design visually appealing, responsive websites with a focus on user experience (UX) and user interface (UI)
  • Implement best practices for Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) to enhance site visibility and rankings
  • Integrate and manage Google Analytics to track and report on website performance and user behaviour
  • Optimise websites for speed, performance, and SEO
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align design and development with business objectives
  • Assist in troubleshooting and debugging website issues
  • Continuously stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in web design, development, SEO, and analytics
  • Support the marketing team leader with design-oriented tasks, not limited to web design

The successful candidate:

  • Proven experience working with WordPress (custom themes and plugins are a plus)
  • Strong understanding of SEO principles and best practices
  • Experience with Google Analytics and other analytical tools
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience with UI/UX design principles
  • Knowledge of responsive design and mobile-first development
  • Basic understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
