MIG Welder
Location: Avonmouth , Bristol
Position Summary:
The MIG Welder will be responsible for performing metal inert gas (MIG) welding tasks on various types of metals, including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of welding techniques and safety protocols, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MIG welding on various materials, ensuring strong, precise welds and adherence to specifications.
- Set up and operate welding equipment, including adjusting settings for wire feed, voltage, and other parameters.
- Inspect welds for accuracy, completeness, and quality, making adjustments as needed.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to ensure proper welding techniques are applied.
- Ensure all welding operations meet company and industry safety standards and procedures.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, ensuring tools and equipment are in good working condition.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and production goals.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on welding equipment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, wearing proper PPE and maintaining safe working practices.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members regarding project progress, challenges, and safety concerns.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a MIG Welder
- Strong knowledge of MIG welding techniques and metal fabrication.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
- Proficiency in using MIG welding equipment and tools.
- Experience working with a variety of metals, including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality control skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
- Welding certification (e.g., AWS or equivalent) is preferred but not required.
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and work in physically demanding conditions.
