Preconstruction Manager Wanted Bristol


We are searching for an experienced Pre-Construction Manage or a Design Manager/ Project Manager looking for a career change who wishes to work for an established construction business based in Bristol. Projects typically include the construction of Education, Healthcare, Blue-light, Commercial and Residential.


The role:

The Pre-Construction Manager will be required to lead the procurement teams to deliver profitable, de-risked, winning bids on time and to the highest quality whilst maintaining external relationships. This role requires someone with excellent leadership skills who can manage a multi-disciplinary team to work collaboratively to deliver winning bids and a first-class customer experience.


Reporting to the Regional Director and Pre-construction Director you will be responsible for taking pre-construction projects from tender stage through potential pre-construction agreements and to point of contract award. You will be the key point of contact for internal colleagues, external consultants, and clients. You will be managing several projects at any one time with the support of junior Bid Support and Estimating team members. You will be responsible for the co-ordination of an aligned tender submission with coordinated input from each discipline contributing within the business including design, commercial, estimating, planning, operations, and manufacturing. Tenders must be commercially attractive, have quantifiable risk management strategies and that can be built and delivered to an optimum programme. This will include interfacing with the supply chain.


Key Requirements:

Demonstrable experience in a construction role, preferably for a main contractor in preconstruction. You will have construction knowledge which will enable you to de-risk schemes that are of a large value.

Experience of working simultaneously across large scale, multi-million-pound projects

Experience of managing design to cost, supported with very strong analytical skills

You will ideally hold a recognised qualification within a related discipline, e.g. construction, building, civil etc.
