As part of our Technical Documentation team, you will ensure technical data and documentation specifications meet the highest standards before distribution to subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and validate OEM manuals, ensuring editorial consistency and coherence.
- Collaborate with Senior Technical Documentation Engineer to create and deliver detailed technical documentation reports.
- Liaise with cross-functional teams, including engineering and support functions, to streamline technical data requirements.
- Conduct editorial reviews, assess delivery requirements, and produce specifications for subcontracted documentation production.
- Manage configurations, ensuring audit trails and accurate ship-fit system data through database management.
- Ensure documentation aligns with business quality and safety standards, adhering to company policies.
- Respond to subcontractor queries regarding production specifications.
- Provide feedback on project progress, identifying potential risks to timelines, budget, or quality.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Solid knowledge of S1000D standards, particularly in Integrated Product Support (IPS).
- Proficiency in MS Word, XML, SGML, and technical documentation processes.
- Excellent communication skills for technical discussions with stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Experience in writing for T26, QEC, or T45 systems isideal but not essential
- Proficiency in S1000D authoring tools (S1000E, 4.1, and Eagle).
- Familiarity with ITAR requirements and maritime engineering is highly valued.
Additional Details:
- Location: On-site 1-2 days per week at either Bristol, Portsmouth or Glasgow.
- Security Clearance (SC) is required; candidates with dual nationality may be ineligible due to ITAR regulations.
- Potential for permanent placement with opportunities for international projects.
