Job Overview

A well-respected secondary school in Salisbury, rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is a long-term role until at least July 2025, with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate. The successful applicant will work closely with the school’s Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) department, collaborating with the SEND Manager to support students with a range of additional needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

  • Work closely with the SEND Manager to implement strategies for student engagement and progress.

  • Support students with conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and other learning challenges.

  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment and assist with classroom behaviour management.

  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and the SEND department.

  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure SEN students can access the full curriculum.
