There’s something about that first glimpse of the sea that lifts the heart and summons a wave of nostalgia. Sea air, fresh fish straight off the boat, local ice cream, seagulls, sunset strolls, seals and sea shanties carrying up on the wind from the harbour (genuinely!)

All that was within 2 hours of visiting. Can you imagine actually living there? Well this is your opportunity!

Our client has a reputation in the field for tackling highly complex analytical studies that require extensive industry expertise to solve. If you are seeking a role that will challenge and expand your analytical chemistry knowledge, as well as an enviable life by the sea, then this is the ideal role for you!

As a Senior Analytical Scientist in their Met ID team, you will be responsible for designing, optimizing and applying analytical methods to ecotoxicological, e-fate, physchem and residue studies; detecting and characterizing metabolites in complex matrices. You will have access to the latest mass spec technologies including Thermo Orbitrap.

In collaboration with colleagues, you will be responsible for every part of the analytical method plan, from sample preparation to final report.

In addition to your day to day laboratory work you will also be expected to research the latest technologies and practices with a view to implement these in the workplace and evolve the company’s working practices and services.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

  • BSc/MChem/PhD in Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry or related subject
  • Knowledge of method development, specifically using LC-MS for Met ID studies either from pharmaceutical or e-fate or environmental studies

Candidates with an understanding of industry regulations such as GLP, GMP or ISO and knowledge of Sciex and/or ThermoFisher mass spec technology will be at a distinct advantage.

Interviews will be conducted in a 2 stage process; virtual and onsite. If you are not located in the UK then there will be the option to conduct an entirely virtual interview process.

The company offer exceptional opportunities for career growth within a friendly and supportive team. As well as a competitive salary, pension and associated benefits you will enjoy an unrivalled working environment, including an active social calendar and subsidised canteen.
