Job Purpose:

You will play a critical part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and driving key financial insights that support business strategies.

Our client is looking for a Qualified Accountant ideally from an audit background, either direct from practice or with a year or two’s experience in industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Statutory accounts preparation and completion for two business units.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring compliance with IFRS or GAAP standards.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights to support management decision-making.
  • Work closely with the internal and external auditors, effectively business partnering to achieve successful and timely audit.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements, liaising with tax authorities as needed, and completing corporation tax computations.
  • Assist in process improvement initiatives to streamline accounting operations and enhance internal controls.

Skills and Experience:

  • A recognised accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
  • Proven familiarity of financial and management reporting - this includes management accounts, year-end statutory accounts and tax returns.
  • A working knowledge of taxation issues (Corporation tax, VAT, RDEC)
  • Knowledge of a variety of accounts packages and understanding of financial systems.
