Financial Accountant
Location: Broadstairs – Office basedWorking Pattern: Full time, permanentWorking Hours: 37.5 hours/week, Monday – FridaySalary Range: Up to £55,000 per annum, depending on experience
Reed is pleased to be recruiting for a Financial Accountant on behalf of a valued client in Thanet. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and providing key financial insights to support business strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and complete statutory accounts for two business units.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring compliance with IFRS or GAAP standards.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights to support management decision-making.
- Work closely with internal and external auditors, effectively business partnering to achieve successful and timely audits.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements, liaising with tax authorities as needed, and completing corporation tax computations.
- Assist in process improvement initiatives to streamline accounting operations and enhance internal controls.
To be successful the candidate will have:
- A recognised accounting qualification (ideally ACCA or ACA).
- A working knowledge of taxation issues including corporation tax, VAT, and RDEC.
- Proven experience in financial and management reporting.
- Auditing knowledge and experience, capable of managing both internal and external audit processes.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
