Financial Accountant

Location: Broadstairs – Office basedWorking Pattern: Full time, permanentWorking Hours: 37.5 hours/week, Monday – FridaySalary Range: Up to £55,000 per annum, depending on experience

Reed is pleased to be recruiting for a Financial Accountant on behalf of a valued client in Thanet. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and providing key financial insights to support business strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and complete statutory accounts for two business units.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring compliance with IFRS or GAAP standards.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights to support management decision-making.
  • Work closely with internal and external auditors, effectively business partnering to achieve successful and timely audits.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements, liaising with tax authorities as needed, and completing corporation tax computations.
  • Assist in process improvement initiatives to streamline accounting operations and enhance internal controls.

To be successful the candidate will have:

  • A recognised accounting qualification (ideally ACCA or ACA).
  • A working knowledge of taxation issues including corporation tax, VAT, and RDEC.
  • Proven experience in financial and management reporting.
  • Auditing knowledge and experience, capable of managing both internal and external audit processes.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
