SEND Teaching Assistant– Broadstairs – ASAP

Twenty4Seven Education is seeking multiple kind, caring and sympathetic Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Teaching Assistants (SEND TAs) to work within a spacious Residential Special School.

This welcoming School is registered as a children’s home for children and young people aged 5-19 with severe intellectual disabilities including Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC). Their facilities include a library, a swimming pool, a parent/carer house, an interactive soft play room and a sensory garden.

Due to the School being registered as a children's home they need SEND TA's to cover shifts during the week and/or weekends. Depending on the hours you require the School can accomodate for you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and/or small group support to reinforce learning expectations
  • Offer personalised assistance to children and young people with ASC, associated communication difficulties, emotional/behavioural challenges, complex disabilities and medical needs
  • Help provide a safe, stimulating and structured environment
  • Support students in managing their behaviour and regulating their emotions following the school behaviour policy
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with other colleagues, professionals and parents/carers regarding student progress, well-being and any arising issues
  • Assist in preparing teaching materials and classroom resources
  • Keep accurate records of student activities, progress and behaviour

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent
  • Experience working with children with SEND within an educational setting or similar (minimum of 3 months of experience)
  • Child and Adult DBS check on the Update Service or willing to pay and apply for a new one (Twenty4Seven Education can assist you with this process)
  • You can demonstrate a patient, compassionate, and proactive approach to working with children
  • You have excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • You are committed to creating a supportive learning environment
