Twenty4Seven Education is seeking multiple caring, passionate, fun, motivated Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Teaching Assistants (SEND TAs) for numerous vibrant and supportive Special Schools. Special Schools in Swale, Thanet and Ashford need reliable and adaptable SEND Tas to join their dedicated teaching staff to support children with various additional needs.

Purpose of Job:
To support the class teacher in the teaching and welfare of children to ensure they attain the targets set under their individual educational programmes. Children will have SEND such as Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)and Profound, Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). Due to these additional needs children may need support in communication through aids like sign language, pictures, symbols etc. and they may need assistance in managing their challenging behaviour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety, security and confidentiality reporting all concerns to an appropriate person to ensure pupils’ wellbeing
- Be aware of and support differences to ensure all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop
- Implement behaviour management programmes for to ensure pupils’ wellbeing, health, safety and learning needs are met
- Demonstrate good communication skills when informing, persuading, inspiring and motivating pupils and providing feedback to other professionals and parents/carers as required
- Ensure the maintenance of a clean, orderly and safe working environment ensuring that equipment/resources/materials are set out on time and as per instructions and used safely to enable pupils to meet their learning targets
- Provide admin support (e.g. typing, photocopying, display etc.)
- Complete records for pupils learning, behaviour management, child protection etc. as directed
- Attend to pupil's personal care needs and assist with the organisation of refreshments and mealtimes to ensure pupils’ well-being and health and safety
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum NVQ 2 or equivalent
- Experience working with children with SEND within an educational setting or similar (minimum of 3 months of experience)
- Child and Adult DBS check on the Update Service or willing to pay and apply for a new one (Twenty4Seven Education can assist you with this process)
- Good Literacy, Numeracy and IT skills
