Twenty4Seven Education is seeking multiple caring, enthusiastic and dependable Primary Teaching Assistants for numerous highly successful mainstream Primary Schools. Primary Schools in Thanet and Canterbury need reliable and adaptable Teaching Assistants to join their dedicated teaching staff to support children with various abilities, learning difficulties and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

The main aim of this role is to support the class teacher with the teaching and welfare of children to attain the targets set within the National Curriculum or Individual Education Plans. In and out of the classroom you will encourage and promote positive behaviour and effectively manage any situation that threatens to impact on the progress of other students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety, security and confidentiality reporting all concerns to an appropriate person to ensure pupils’ wellbeing
- To provide teaching support in small groups and where necessary work with individual pupils to the highest standards
- Reinforce the behaviour policy and aim to raise self-esteem and encourage independent working.
- Complete records for pupils learning, behaviour management, child protection etc. as directed
- Demonstrate good communication skills when supporting pupils and providing feedback to other professionals and parents/carers as required
- Ensure the maintenance of a clean, orderly and safe working environment ensuring that equipment/resources/materials are set out on time and as per instructions and used safely to enable pupils to meet their learning targets
- Provide admin support (e.g. typing, photocopying, display etc.)
Qualifications & Experience:
- Right to work in the UK
- Satisfactory references covering the last 2 years
- Enhanced DBS Certificate (Child) on the Update Service or willing to pay and apply for a new one (Twenty4Seven Education can assist you with this process)
- GCSE English and Mathematics to Grade C+ (or equivalent) is essential
- Level 2 Diploma (or equivalent) is desirable
- Experience working with children within an educational setting or similar (minimum of 3 months of experience)
- Good Literacy, Numeracy and IT skills
