R&D and Projects Engineer

Location: Poole, Dorset

Salary: £53,000 per annum

Hours: Days (Full-time, Monday to Friday)

Role Overview:

As an R&D and Projects Engineer, you will be responsible for driving the development of new products and innovations, as well as leading and managing a range of engineering projects from concept to completion. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams including design, production, and quality, while ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead research and development activities for new product concepts and improvements to existing products.

     

  • Manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously, ensuring successful delivery in line with customer specifications and business goals.

     

  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure seamless integration of new technologies.

     

  • Conduct product testing, analyze results, and recommend design modifications as necessary.

     

  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets, and track progress to meet deadlines.

     

  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians.

     

  • Maintain compliance with relevant standards and regulations, ensuring high levels of quality and safety.

     

  • Stay up to date with industry trends and new technologies to bring innovative solutions to the company.

     

Skills and Experience:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.

     

  • Proven experience in R&D and project engineering within a manufacturing or OEM environment.

     

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.

     

  • Proficient in CAD software and engineering design tools.

     

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong analytical mindset.
